My prediction for the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl and why I think Memphis is kinda weird:
The game will be played on Dec 24 Hawai’i (6-7) and Memphis (6-6). I am honestly surprised Hawai’i made a bowl game this season. In their 7 losses they played awful, but somehow they put together 6 good games. Considering half of them were gimmies (2 against New Mexico St. and 1 against FCS Portland St.), They really only needed to string together 3 good games. Even the game against a bad Colorado St. team wasn’t very good considering they only won by 5 points, but they did beat Fresno St. which is impressive. Memphis is weird. Sometimes they show up, sometimes they don’t. They started off with a 3 game win streak including a game against Mississippi St. that had awful officiating. Then they only lost by 3 to UTSA, but lost to Temple and Tulsa who are not very good. Then they beat Navy which is not very impressive and then got whooped by UCF. Then they beat a good SMU team. Then they lost to another two good teams with East Carolina and Houston, but beat Tulane in the final week. While I think both teams are wildly inconsistent I think Memphis should have this in the bag with a win and cover 38-27.
