Heisman Watch

#1 QB Michael Penix Jr. (Washington)

103/138, 1,636 yards, 16 TDs, 2 INTs

Best Performance

@ MSU: 27/35, 473 yards, 4 TDs

Michael Penix Jr. was my favorite at the beginning of the season, and he continues to be. He has been amazing and has plenty of chances to outshine the other Pac 12 QBs.

#2 QB Caleb Williams (USC)

75/101, 1,200 yards, 15 TDs, 3 Rushing TDs

Best Performance

vs Stanford: 19/21, 281 yards, 3 TDs, Rushing TD

Caleb Williams won the Heisman last year and may win it again this year. He has been playing great, but his O-line may get in the way of him winning again.

#3 QB Quinn Ewers (Texas)

72/112, 1,033 yards, 9 TDs, 3 Rushing TDs

Best Performance

@ Alabama: 24/38, 349 yards, 3 TDs

This is less about his overall stats, and more about performing when it matters most. He completely picked apart Alabama’s elite defense in one of the biggest games of the year.

#4 QB Bo Nix (Oregon)

104/131, 1,169 yards, 11 TDs, INT, Rushing TD

Best Perfomance

32/44, 359 yards, 2 TDs, 9 att, 46 yards

Bo Nix has been electric since he’s transferred to Oregon, and as an Alabama fan, it would be hilarious to see him win Heisman after leaving Auburn.

#5 QB Cameron Ward (WASU)

106/142, 1,390 yards, 13 TDs, 41 att, 109 yards, 3 TDs

Best Performance

vs Oregon State: 28/34, 404 yards, 4 TDs, Rushing TD

Cameron Ward is a serious dark horse candidate. WASU has been quietly creeping up my rankings, and Ward has been one of the best players in the country.

Upset Alert

#4 Georgia at Auburn: Georgia has been off to some slow starts and could have some trouble scoring against teh Tigers stout defense.

#19 Clemson at Syracuse: Is this the end for the Tigers? We’ll see as they go against the undefeated Orange.

#24 Maryland vs Indiana: Look out for the Hoosiers. Their defense did well against Ohio State and Louisville, and they could be trouble for Maryland as well.
