My picks for the top 5 games of week 5:
Last Week: 3-2 (1-3-1)
Overall: 12-8 (7-12-1)
15 Utah at 21 Oregon State (-4.0)
This game will most likely be very much a defensive battle. Cam Rising will be out again, despite me thinking he would be back last week. Oregon State’s score against WASU was a little deceiving, and I believe Utah’s defense is much better than the Cougs’. Utah will cover and win outright.
Florida at Kentucky (-1.0)
These two teams are very even. Good defenses, but shaky offenses. However, Florida has a standout win while UK does not. Florida beat Tennessee by double digits, and Kentucky has beaten up on cupcakes. I like Florida to win outright.
16 Kansas at 1 Texas (-16.0)
Texas is the ebst team in the country, but Jalon Daniels is the best QB they’ll face all season, as the Jayhawks have been looking the part this year of one of the main threats to Texas to win the Big 12. This should be a tough game as I believe Kansas will cover, though Texas will win the game outright.
12 LSU (-2.5) at 13 Ole Miss
Ole Miss’ offense was not great against Alabama last week, and LSU struggled against Arkansas. I believe LSU will get the win, as their defense at times is comparable to Alabama’s, so as long as they are able to shut down the Rebels’ run game, they’ll win.
7 Notre Dame (-5.5) at 18 Duke
This might be the biggest game of the day. If Duke wins, they cement themselves as one of the top teams in the ACC, and that would also knock Notre Dame out of the playoff conversation. If Notre Dame wins, they stay in the playoff hunt, but Duke is still in fine position to compete for the ACC championship. I believe Notre Dame will win, but Duke will cover in a low scoring close game.
