Week 8 CFB Locks

My locks for week 8:

Locks: 3-3

Upset Alert: 2-0

Game of the Week: 1-1

Locks

Rutgers (-5.0) at Indiana

I don’t really understand this spread. Rutgers has had one of their best starts in a very long time, while Indiana has been terrible. Indiana’s only wins are against Indiana State, and a 2 point win vs Akron. Rutgers is coming off a comeback win against Michigan State, and I expect them to keep rolling this week with an easy win.

Iowa (-3.5) vs Minnesota

In what will be one of the most boring games of the season, Iowa should win be more than a field goal. Iowa has been so sound defensively this year with their only loss to no. 3 Penn State. Minnesota hasn’t been good on either side of the ball. That coupled with the fact that Iowa is at home, I like the Hawkeyes to cover.

Ole Miss (-6.5) at Auburn

I’ve lost all confidence in Auburn after last week’s performance. The fact that my no. 11 team is favored by less than a touchdown is a steal. Ole Miss is way better than Auburn, and will be ready to play out of the bye week.

Upset Alert

Utah (+7.0) at USC

USC has been terrible this year and are lucky to be 6-1. Their offense was completely shut down against Notre Dame, and I expect the same to happen this week. The fact that USC struggled so much with Arizona, ASU, and Colorado, makes me believe that they aren’t ready to compete with a team that has talent on both sides of the ball, and Utah is a team with talent.

Game of the Week

3 Penn State at 6 Ohio State

These two teams are very evenly matched. Both have great defenses. I am concerned about the health of Ohio State’s RB room, and I trust Drew Allar more than I trust Kyle McCord. I’ll pick Penn State to beat the Buckeyes for the first time in years.
