What teams I will use for dynasty and what I am most looking forward to in the new game:
I am so hyped for this game. I love Madden, and I think it gets too much hate, but I’m not gonna lie, this game looks like it is going to be way better. The atmospheres look electric, the graphics are amazing, all the new mechanics look fun, and the playbooks should offer a lot of replay-ability. The thing I am most looking forwards to? Dynasty mode. In Madden, I basically only play franchise mode, but it doesn’t offer that much depth. That won’t be the case for dynasty. The coaching and recruiting systems look super deep, and I am excited play it.
Dynasty Rankings
1 – Alabama Crimson Tide
Alright, most people make these rankings with rebuilding in mind. Most people want the challenge of building up a smaller school, but I kind of doubt some those lists. Would they really rather play with a crappy C-USA school than their favorite school who happens to be pretty good? Maybe they do, but I would much rather play with my favorite team.
Alabama comes with their own storyline as well that makes them more interesting than other contenders. They are entering uncharted waters in the Post-Nick Saban Era, and many, including myself, are on the fence on if Kalen DeBoer will be able to maintain the dominance. Also, Jalen Milroe is going to be really fun to use. While I have some problems with him in real life, it is going to be super fun to throw a bunch of deep balls and go on some big runs.
2 – UAB Blazers
Once again, this is one of my favorite teams, but they also are a smaller school. They are in a transitional period as a program after their first year in the AAC, and this year could be important in establishing themselves in the pecking order of the conference.
UAB also has some cool uniforms, the best logo in college football, and a good QB to start with in Jacob Zeno.
3 – Air Force Falcons
Another one of my favorite teams, but they have the added wrinkle of having a triple option offense. They are a consistently good program, but they haven’t taken that next step yet to being great. It would be pretty cool to see a service academy get a national championship.
4 – Vanderbilt Commodores
I don’t like Vandy per say, but they would be quite the project. They have been the worst team in the SEC for as long as long as I can remember, and They are obviously in worse situation than any of their piers. Definitely the best P5 project in the game, and they also have cool uniforms.
5 – Stanford Cardinal
Stanford used to be one of the best teams in the Pac-12 every year, and now they are one of the worst programs in the country as they enter the ACC. I like their uniforms, and their logo though. They are challenged in recruiting by being a more academic focused school, but it should be fun to find ways to overcome that. Also, the tree is goated.
6 – Troy Trojans/South Alabama Jaguars
I couldn’t decided which of these teams I liked more, so I decided to go with both of them. They are both good programs, and they are both usually somewhere near the top of the Sun Belt. They could be fun Go5 projects.
7 – BYU Cougars/Utah Utes
They’re the two local teams where I live, and they both are usually pretty entertaining. They both have great mascots, and good stadiums with beautiful views of the mountains. I really don’t like either one more than the other, but both are traditionally good programs. They have some fire uniforms as well.
8 – Michigan State Spartans
They are really the only team I like in the Big Ten. I’ve always loved their green uniforms, and their logo has always been sick. They have been off and on one of the best teams in the conference, and I would like to make them a consistent contender.
9 – Eastern Michigan Eagles
As a whole, the MAC is probably the least entertaining conference in the country, but EMU has a couple of things going for them. They have a unique, cool gray field that works well with their green uniforms, and their seating looks really cool. It would just be a nice team to look at week after week.
10 – Notre Dame Fighting Irish
I’ve always kinda liked Notre Dame. They have some of the best uniforms in college football, they have great TE’s (which I appreciate since I play TE), they have a great fight song, and they usually don’t shy away from a tough schedule. Speaking of schedules, in CFB 25, I will be able to completely customize my schedule as an Independent, which is a W.
Other Things I’m Excited For
EA says they put a lot of detail into the team’s traditions, and I am really hoping Alabama right. I don’t know that much about the traditions of some other teams, but here are some things that I want to be included:
- Big Al
- Fight Song
- Rammer Jammer
- Lights at night
- Sweet Home Alabama
- Dixie Land Delight (They probably won’t have the swearing, but one can hope)
- Roll Tide for 1st downs
- Rolllllllllllll Tide for kickoffs
Those are the main things I want, and hopefully EA will be able to do a good job for everyone’s teams.
