Week 3: CFB Locks

Locks

North Texas (+9.5) at Texas Tech

Texas Tech has sucked through the first two weeks of the season, and the Mean Green have been solid, especially on offense. I don’t understand why the number is as high as it is, and I think North Texas has the potential to win on the road.

Oregon at Oregon State (+16)

Oregon has not been able to put things together yet this season as they struggled against Idaho and Boise State. The Beavers are going to hyped at home this week as they play their rivals who abandoned them for the Big Ten, and I could see this game being very close.

Indiana (-3) at UCLA

UCLA is really bad this year, and they don’t have a great home atmosphere. Indiana has exceeded my expectations in the first two weeks, albeit against much inferior competition, but IU doesn’t normally play as well as they did against the cupcakes. Indiana should dominate this game.

Upset Alert

West Virginia at Pittsburgh (+2)

Pitt was able to get the comeback last week as my upset pick, and I’ll trust them to get another W this week. They get this rivalry game at home, and the Panthers’ offense is rolling. WVU has been a little underwhelming through the first two weeks, and I think Pitt will get another outright win as an underdog.

Game of the Week

23 Arizona at 15 Kansas State

The only game that should be close this week between two good teams. I expect a lot of points to be scored in this win, but I’ll give the edge to Kansas State. They have a much better defense, evident by Arizona’s struggles against New Mexico’s offense in week 1. It should be a really good Friday night game, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Arizona covers.
