Saturday Stocks: Week 7 (SEC Special)

My Saturday Stocks, but this time it is just the SEC:

This week was a super exciting week in the SEC. Outside of Missouri (who slapped UMass) and Arkansas, TAMU, and Auburn who were all on byes, we were able to learn a lot about teams in the SEC.

Stock Up

Texas, LSU, and Vanderbilt

Texas kicked butt at the Red River Rivalry and Oklahoma didn’t even look like they belonged on the same field. The Longhorns have established themselves as basically the only dominant team in college football right now.

LSU just made their path to the playoffs much easier, and they have proven that they can win in these close games against good teams. Nussmeier is looking really good too.

Vanderbilt showed that they are here to stay. They got the win on the road against Kentucky, and now they could very well find themselves with a winning record when it’s all said and done.

Stock Down

Ole Miss

I really thought Ole Miss was going to be a championship contender, and I really don’t think that they’re necessarily that bad. They seem to be the kind of team that could beat anyone, or lose to anyone. I see them ending the season 9-3 given their schedule, but I am really dissapointed.

Stock Down?

Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee

All three of these teams have been extremely underwhelming. While Alabama and Tennessee have been criticized much more than Georgia the last two weeks, I’d like to just say that Georgia struggled with both Auburn and Mississippi State as it took them a very long time to put the worst two teams in the conference away. Just something to consider when you’re dogging on Alabama and Tennessee (they both deserve criticism, but I’m just saying that Georgia does too).
