Who will make the Playoffs?

AFC

The AFC has 5 locks right now in my opinion. New England, Denver, Buffalo, Houston, and Jacksonville. Then there is the AFC North winner and one wildcard spot.

Even though the Bengals are sitting at 4-9, I still think there is a chance for them to make this thing if theyw in out, but that probably won’t happen, which means it is between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I lean that the Steelers will make it because it really seems like the Ravens have no sense of urgency at this point, and I don’t know if they will ever get things back on the right track unless they make some substantial changes this offseason.

The last wildcard spot will most likely go to LA, but Indianapolis is still in this if tehy get decent QB play from whoever starts with Daniel Jones injured. KC is still in it, kind of, and while I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a run to get to 10-7, they still need help ahead of them. Miami is also technically in this, and they are playing really good football right now, on both sides of the ball, but I think it is too little too late for Miami.

Projected Seeding

1 New England Patriots 14-3

2 Denver Broncos 13-4

3 Houston Texans 11-6

4 Pittsburgh Steelers 9-8

5 Buffalo Bills 12-5

6 Jacksonville Jaguars 11-6

7 Los Angeles Chargers 11-6

In the Hunt

8 Kansas City Chiefs 10-7

9 Miami Dolphins 9-8

10 Indianapolis Colts 8-9

NFC

The NFC is a little more complicated. Philadelphia is basically a lock to win their division, while LA and Seattle are locks to get in. I’d consider Green Bay to be a lock as well. Then there are two wildcard spots and teh NFC South division champ.

Tampa Bay and Carolina are currently tied at 7-6, and they still have to play eachother twice. It’s anyone’s game at this point, but I think Tampa Bay will be able to get it done in the end.

There are 3 teams fighting for those last two spots. The 49ers, Lions, and Bears.

Bears remaining schedule: vs CLE, vs GB, @ SF, vs DET

Lions remaining schedule: @ LAR, vs PIT, @ MIN, @ CHI

49ers remaining schedule: vs TEN, @ IND, vs CHI, vs SEA

All of them have tough schedules, and all of them must play at least one of the others. It will ultimately come down to who can win this head to heads, and I think SF and DET will get the tiebreakers in the end, and unfortuntaley the Bears magical season will come to an end earlier than they would like.

Projected Seeding

1 Los Angeles Rams 14-3

2 Green Bay Packers 12-4-1

3 Philadelphia Eagles 10-7

4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9-8

5 Seattle Seahawks 13-4

6 San Francisco 49ers 11-6

7 Detroit Lions 11-6

In the Hunt

8 Chicago Bears 11-6

9 Dallas Cowboys 9-7-1

10 Carolina Panthers 9-8

Super Bowl Contenders

AFC

The AFC has three teams I can see going to the Super Bowl. New England, Denver, and Buffalo. I don’t think LA, Pittsburgh, or Houston have the offense to make it, and Jacksonville doesn’t have the consistency. New England seems to be the most complete, so they are my pick for now, but Buffalo has Josh Allen, and Denver has the best defense, so those two are really close.

NFC

The NFC has three teams in the Super Bowl hunt as well. Los Angeles, Seattle, and Green Bay. All of them are complete, and playing at an elite level right now. Whichever of these three teams wins the NFC will win the Super Bowl, no matter who there opponent from the AFC is. The Rams are my favorite right now as I think Matthew Stafford and that offense are far and away the best in the NFL right now, and none of the other contenders will be able to keep up with them.
