Week 7: CFB Locks

My locks for week 7:

Locks: 2-1

Upset Alert: 1-0

GOTW: 0-1

Locks

Kansas (-3.0) at Oklahoma State

Kansas has been really good this year, even when they start Bean at QB. OKST has played pretty poorly outside of last week’s performance against KSU. They got slaughtered by South Alabama and lost to a poor Iowa State team. I would be shocked if Oklahoma State made this game competitive.

Auburn (+11.0) at LSU

Listen, LSU is a better team than Auburn, but this game is almost always really competitive. Auburn has not bee great this year, but they have shown that they can fight, especially in that Georgia game. LSU’s defense can’t stop anyone, and I expect Auburn to be able to run the ball. This game will be close than the experts think.

Wyoming (+10.5) at Air Force

Don’t get me wrong, Air Force has been great this year, but so has Wyoming. Honestly, Wyoming has proven themselves a lot more than Air Force has. Now, I think Air Force will get the win with homefield advantage, but Wyoming has done great in games against good teams (beat Texas Tech and Fresno State. Lost after giving Texas trouble). Air Force wins, but Wyoming will definitely keep it close.

Upset Alert

Missouri (+2.5) at Ketucky

Both of these teams lost last week after starting 5-0, and this game will say a lot about that maturity of these two teams. I like Mizzou to win outright because they have a lot more balance on offense. Kentucky has struggled to pass the ball, and has a secondary that can be exploited (435 yards allowed passing vs UGA). Mizzou passes the ball at a high level, plays good defense, and has a good running game. Mizzou, is across the board, the better team.

Game of the Week

6 Oregon at 1 Washington

This game will be a great indicator of who the top dog in the Pac 12 really is; it will also show who is a more legitimate Heisman contender, Bo Nix vs Michael Penix Jr. Both teams have amazing offense, and play decent defense. While I believe Oregon plays a little bit better defense, I give the edge to Washington because I believe in Penix more than I believe in Nix when it’s all said and done.
